DOORS OPEN 7PM. SHOW STARTS 7.30PM
Full of Noises is delighted to welcome Penumbra to Piel View House on Friday 29 November.
PENUMBRA - An experimental performance created by vocalist DALI DE SAINT PAUL, electronic composer and double bassist MAXWELL STERLING, and visual artists CHARLIE HOPE and REBECCA SALVADORI. Emerging from a collaborative process across a series of shared sessions, Penumbra comprises improvised music and sound structured by a score of video and lighting elements. Commissioned by Outlands.
Dali de Saint Paul is s a relentless collaborator and improviser, the voice of searing industrial duo Harrga, female improvising ensemble Viridian, trio dark idl, supergroup Ondata Rossa, and as the consistent element in her recently-concluded ‘self-exploding’ project EP/64, which existed for 64 live shows, each with a different line up, and involving over forty musicians as well as visual artists over a six-year period.
Maxwell Sterling’s multidisciplinary output as a sound producer, composer and double bassist spans regular collaborations with other musicians, visual artists, filmmakers and fashion designers. His work creates points of reference between precision sound synthesis and acoustic traditions, and can be heard on lauded solo releases for The Death of Rave and AD93, and his 2022 EP with Martha Skye Murphy, Distance on Ground (American Dreams).
Also on the bill Iñaki Ramirez
Iñaki Ramirez is a Mexican multi-medium sound artist and electronic musician based in London. Algorithmic composition, experimental synthesis and generative practice, are the building blocks in his creative process. Creating rich, atmospheric textures and complex probability-based rhythms to fit multiple spaces and contexts.
Iñaki’s work could be divided into two main areas, sound designed for video and visual mediums, and live performance and installation. His installations take advantage of the ephemeral qualities of sound, exploiting spaces with multichannel and surround audio. As a musician he explores electronic music and it’s performance, exploring genres such as Techno, IDM and Ambient.
Apart from his creative practice he is equally involved in curating, audio engineering and organising various events that promote experimental audiovisual art. He is a graduate of BA (Hons) Sound Arts at London College of Communication, UAL.
