Tilda Swinton plays Jessica, a haunted British woman who wanders the streets of Colombian cities Bogota and Medellin, in suspended shock from increasingly loud bangs she hears each night, preventing her from sleeping.
It’s an almost elemental sound, the search for the origin of which becomes her existential quest.
See this extraordinary film at Full of Noises, Piel View House, Barrow Parl on Wednesday 20 August. Doors 18.30 - tickets just £3.
Writer/Director Apichatpong Weerasethakul said:
“She’s just drifting in Colombia with this sound in her head. Along the way she encounters individuals.
"I think the whole film is about healing, and it’s about finding yourself.
"Or just finding a connection to a place and its people, all of the different layers there — and how you have to go through the process of simulation, and internal transformation."
